August Walk - Lyke Wake Walk Challenge - 40 miles/64km

🥾About the event

The Lyke Wake Walk is a 40 mile (64km) hike with 1524m of ascent. 

It’s begins on Scarth Wood Moor in Osmotherley, takes you across the beautiful North Yorkshire Moors and ending on the North Sea coast at Ravenscar. 

🥾How long will it take? 

The challenge is to complete the full walk within 24 hours (we expect you to complete in between 16-18hrs as this challenge requires a good level of fitness)

🥾Do I need a map? 

The event is fully supported, so no navigation required. 

🥾Arrival 

Start time is 6am sharp. We ask that you are ready to go for that time. It’s essential that you arrive in a timely manner to get your kit sorted!

🥾Finish

You will finish at Ravenscar and then be taken to Village Hall, Staintondale, Scarborough YO13 0EL.

From the finish you will be taken to the village hall by us which is a 5 minute drive down the road.

If you are getting picked up please ensure they pick you up from the above address and there is a car park at the back.

If you have your own transport waiting for you, you will be taken to your car which is around 5 minutes from the finisher point.

🥾 Transport Option - if you choose this option the bus will pick you up from Ravenscar at 445am to bring you too Osmotherly which is the start. You then leave your vehicle at Ravenscar so it is there when you finish.

🥾 There will be a briefing meeting held before the event for anyone to attend to ask questions and hear how the event will go - Date TBC

Please note we are aiming for completing between 9pm and 11pm, a good level of fitness is required for the event. Anyone having done Yorkshire 3 Peaks or 25 miles is great experience.
