I launched Yorkie Talkies Outdoors six years ago. Since then it has expanded and grown to become an outdoor activities provider.
I have always been interested in business. I completed a business studies course and worked in the corporate world for 14 years.
From the age of 16, it was always a dream to have my own business and I’m now thrilled to be seeing Yorkie Talkies Outdoors blossom.
I absolutely love leading people in the outdoors. It’s a privilege to show people our beautiful countryside. I especially enjoy challenges. Supporting people to achieve their goals is the best feeling in the world!
The outdoors has done wonders for me, and I can see how much it does for others. Seeing people building their confidence, increasing their fitness and ultimately changing their lives through taking part in YTO walks and events is my reason for doing this job.

Walking connects me with human life, past and present. I love walking foot paths that have existed for centuries and learning about our ancient landscape. Leading for YTO and being able to share the beauty and history around us is a joy. I love multi day hikes, high altitude trekking and a bimble on the moors.

I love been in the outdoors whether it be high in the mountains climbing or hiking. I also enjoy been lower down and having a chilled paddle on the water. For me the outdoors allows me to switch off about day to day life and focus on being in the moment. Climbing has really brought this into prospective for me as you really have to focus on what you are doing there and then. I enjoy working with people who maybe aren’t as experienced as me in the outdoors and showing them what the great outdoors has to offer.

“Out on the hill “ is my favourite place to be, this can be in the mountains or on the moorland. Being able to lead for the YTO community is something I feel privileged to be doing. Nature and the environment are things I am passionate about and I enjoy sharing this with others. Day walking, multi day trekking and hiking abroad are things that have given me many fantastic adventures over the years. A few of my other interests involve being around water. Scuba-diving, paddle boarding and open water swimming are some of the things I love.

I am a keen mountain biker and have competed in XC and Enduro races over the years. I also enjoy Trail running/races and hiking, especially scrambling in the Lake District and Wales. I also enjoy jumping on a paddle board to relax at the end of a hard mountain day.
I love sharing the outdoors with my family. Josh, my 12-year-old son, is as enthusiastic as me and we ride mountain bikes and hike together.
Since joining YTO back in 2019 I have naturally become a helping hand on many of the challenges events and bigger days. I am now booked onto an outdoor first aid training course and I’m planning on doing Mountain Leader training in the near future.
I’m looking forward to meeting more people and seeing them achieve amazing things on our next adventure with YTO.

I joined Yorkie Talkies Outdoors in November 2022 for my first walk and instantly knew this was something I wanted to be a part of.

Since that first walk, I've led for YTO on lots of incredible experiences including the National 3 Peaks, the Yorkshire 3 Peaks, the Wharfedale 3 Peaks, and the Lyke Wake Walk.

Having worked in front of a computer for the best part of 13 years, I've always wanted to be able to work outdoors so when the opportunity arose to join the incredible YTO team I knew it was something I couldn't turn down. I love working for Yorkie Talkies Outdoors and being able to give people a great experience outdoors.
