A Magical Evening - the YTO Christmas Ball

Well! The Yorkie Talkies Outdoors community definitely knows how to party! Last Friday night was fantastic and it was a joy to watch you all enjoy yourselves.

The atmospheric (and chilly!) forest at Hazlewood Castle was our home for the evening. As ever, the tipi was decorated beautifully by Emma. The fairy light strewn photo wall showcased some of the best moments of the year and the table plan reminded us of the biggest challenge events of 2023.

We started with warming mulled wine, tucked into cheese, stone baked pizzas, giant pigs in blankets and tasty wedges. The puddings were yummy too! Plus, our very own Jade baked delicious brownies and blondies as favours, the perfect post party treat - JJ's Bakes

The annual YTO award ceremony allowed the team to reward individuals for their team work, courage, skills with a camera, social media savvy and general awesomeness. And this year, the leading team was surprised and delighted to be presented with their own awards, all were brilliantly appropriate. A huge thanks for our restaurant voucher and personal gifts. It was very kind of you all. And the 'takeover' speeches were hilarious too!

Once again, there was as astonishing number of prizes to be won on our mega raffle. Local businesses and YTO customers were very generous, and we are thrilled to announce that over £1600 was raised for Scarborough and Ryedale Mountain Rescue. This will help with the operational costs of helping anyone in distress on North Yorkshire's hills, moors and coastline.

Wasn't DJ Holly from Club Class Entertainment amazing? Once the lights were dimmed and the volume turned up, the dance floor was buzzing! It was a joy to see.

Toasting marshmallows on the open fire and sipping hot chocolate was a great way to relax in the unique surroundings and refuel for more dancing.

We hope you all enjoyed your evening. It's great to occasionally swop the hiking boots for glad-rags isn't it?! There are still lots of walks to enjoy in December, but here's to a spectacular 2024.

Thank you to all the businesses that supported in our raffle, the support was over whelming.
